Rebecca Meyer’s Favorite Color

Purple. Purple is a rare color in nature. Due to its rarity, purple has always held a higher status among other colors, and is frequently associated with royalty.

Even today with dyes readily available and easier to produce, purple remains a color of nobility, royalty, and luxury around the world.

In some cultures, purple is also a color of mourning.

In science and optics, purple has the shortest wavelength of all visible colors, making it one the highest energy colors in the visible spectrum.

Purple is a powerful color full of meaning.

This post was written in memory of Rebecca Meyer.

An hour ago, at 6:45pm EDT, our daughter Rebecca Alison Meyer, Ahuva Raya bat Kayla, died. She was six years, eleven and a half hours old.

Rebbeca Mayer passed away due to astrocytoma, brain cancer.

The family requests charitable donations be made in Rebecca’s name to the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House or the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
